  • 2015 – U.S. Department of Education concludes two-year investigation into Concordia University Portland–HotChalk Inc. business relationship. Parties sign $1 million settlement.

  • 2016 September 28 – Concordia University System CFOs, Provosts, and president Dean Wenthe meet with Hotchalk representatives and decline invitation to have all CUS schools join them.

  • 2018 January 19 – Concordia University Portland reverses decision to block Queer Straight Alliance from campus.

  • 2018 February 2 – LCMS president Matthew Harrison and CUS president Dean Wenthe ask Concordia Portland president Charles Schlimpert to resign.

  • 2018 February 23 – Concordia College Alabama announces it will close at the end of spring semester.

  • 2018 June 16 – Concordia Portland president Charles Schlimpert and CFO Denny Stoeklin present CUS officials a plan for CUP’s departure from the Synod.

  • 2018 July 1 – Charles Schlimpert retires as president of Concordia Portland; succeeded by Johnnie Driessner on interim basis.

  • 2019 January 3 – Dr. Paul J. Kim purchases Concordia Alabama campus.

  • 2019 March 19 – Concordia University St. Paul purchases Central Midway Building.

  • 2019 Spring – Tom Ries retires as president of Concordia St. Paul.

  • 2019 July 20-25 – LCMS Convention in Tampa Bay, Fla.

  • 2019 November 21 – LCMS Board of Directors approve $9.2m in financing for Concordia Portland from Lutheran Church Extension Fund.

  • 2020 January 2 – Tom Ries starts as interim president at Concordia Portland.

  • 2020 February 10 – Ries announces Concordia Portland will close at the end of the spring semester.

  • 2020 April 17 – Hotchalk files $302 million lawsuit against Concordia Portland, Lutheran Church Extension Fund, Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod, and CUP board members.

  • 2021 January 29 – Concordia College New York announces it will close at the end of the spring semester and sell its campus to Iona College.

  • 2021 June 29 – Lutheran Church Extension Fund buys Concordia Portland campus at auction for $3 million.

  • 2021 July 22 – Iona College announces $20 million gift from NewYork-Presbyterian to establish the NewYork-Presbyterian Iona School of Health Sciences at the former Concordia New York campus.

  • 2021 November 5 – New York judge orders $30 million sale of Concordia New York campus to Iona College and $3 million escrow for former employees.

  • 2022 March 14 – University of Oregon Board of Trustees votes to purchase former Concordia Portland campus from Lutheran Church Extension Fund for $60.5 million.

  • 2022 April 20 – Concordia New York settles with former faculty and staff for an undisclosed amount.

  • 2022 June 28 – University of Oregon finalizes purchase of former Concordia Portland property.
